It is optional for us to go on work experience. W
e are encouraged to do so, i went on a placement to Ashley Isham where i helped out getting his collection ready for London Fashion Week. I have also go a 2 week placement arranged at Debenhams. I think work experience is a great way to learn how things work in the industry.

The flexibility option for work experience was a d
eciding factor when i chose where i study, and as of yet i have not had the opportunity to undertake work experience due to personal circumstance, but i am in contact with serveral companies for some work experience before i start my third and final year in September.

A placement was not required as part of the course
but there was an option to do a placement year. As experience is invaluable in the fashion industry i chose to do this, and go a placement working for Couture Bridalwear Designer - Anita Massarella. This experience has proved invaluable to me, i learnt so much, it gave me an overall view of the industry, which i don''t feel you can be taught.
