Head of Menswear Design (Preview)

Company: Firetrap

Biography:
Whilst studying a HND in pattern-cutting and design at Salford College of Technology (now the University of Salford), Adrian undertook a tailoring apprenticeship, which allowed him to practice his pattern-cutting skills.

Then having worked for a number of companies as a pattern-cutter / grading assistant, he was offered a position at Ted Baker (men’s division), so moved south to London. Next he went to work for Hope and Glory before joining jeanswear brand, Firetrap, in September 2004. Adrian is responsible for designing 70 key pieces each season, which go into stores slightly before the main collection.

Adrian's Top Tip:

" Language skills are useful to have when working in the world of fashion. I, like many other designers, often go visit manufacturers in places like the Far and Middle East, as well as Italy. In additional, problem solving skills are also useful – for example what would you do if there was a problem with a manufacturer who couldn’t meet your order? "
